Select a dot or a path for the report. NWS survey teams walked the shaded paths after the storm; each is drawn at the widest width they found, so it can look wider than the damage at any one spot. Gust lines are estimates: the highest gust of the day in NOAA's hourly 2.5 km wind analysis (URMA), which fills in between weather stations. They aren't measurements at any building.

What happened

On June 15, an EF3 tornado hit Perryton in the Texas Panhandle, killing three people and injuring 100.1 On its 6.3-mile path it destroyed dozens of mobile homes, collapsed walls of downtown shops, destroyed some retail stores and damaged many homes.1

That night, hail fell for several minutes in Sanger in Denton County. NWS Fort Worth measured one stone at 5.9 inches, a record for North and Central Texas, though residents said most stones were much smaller.2 NOAA's Storm Events Database lists $10 million in property damage from the Sanger hail.2 Around Como in Hopkins County, straight-line winds and microbursts estimated near 95 mph damaged roofs and metal buildings, and NOAA lists $29 million in property damage there.3 In Oklahoma, a 4-inch hailstone was photographed in Lawton.4

An EF2 tornado with winds up to 130 mph crossed part of Toledo, Ohio, blowing out windows at a strip mall and dropping tree limbs onto houses in the Point Place area.5 On Pensacola Beach, Florida, an EF2 tornado with peak winds near 120 mph tore siding off homes and stripped 20 to 60 percent of the metal roofing from a few of them.6 Early on June 16, a line of storms crossed Hinds and Madison counties in Mississippi, and surveys put its peak gusts at 90 to 100 mph. In Hinds County, falling trees damaged around a dozen homes and the wind damaged some roofs.7 A falling tree killed one person in Canton in Madison County.8
